sooo i'm 21 now. kind of anticlimactic since i have exams this week, but that's okay. my sister got me a flask and my parents got me something, but i won't know what it is until i get home because according to mom it's 'not portable'. so i'll just have to wait and find out on that one.

school is almost over. my last exam is next tuesday, so i'll be all done in a week. unfortunately, i haven't studied for exams (those start in two days) so i kind of have to get on that.

it's pretty much settled; i'm going to romania this summer. it's in the middle of june, and i will get my tuition paid for if i go, so i jut have to pay for everything else. not only that, the class i'll get credit for is a class i need anyway, so i won't have to take a real economics class. instead i'll go to romania for two weeks. i can't really beat that, so i'm signing up. yes sandra, i am finally beating you to a country :)

my xbox broke again. i sent it in yesterday. third time is the charm, right?

also: i'll be home the week of may 11 if anyone is going to be around. if not, i'll probably show up sometime in july too, so no worries, i'll be around.

i guess i don't update this much anymore because i don't really do anything out of the ordinary. so here's a list of what i have been doing and what i will be doing for the next little bit.

anne had her birthday on march 1. we went skydiving (and i just said i haven't done anything out of the ordinary...). that was pretty cool. i think i might like to try parasailing next. anyone wanna go with me? matt won't cause he's scared of heights.

i had a few job offers for this summer, but none of them panned out. i might be going to romania for school for two weeks, but beyond that, i have a wedding to go to over july 4th weekend and that's it. i might also be going to another wedding in june, if i'm in town. i'm very glad for this: after going to school for almost two years straight, i am burned out and ready for a break. and even if i go on that trip to romania, that won't really count. it's only two weeks and i'll get to go sightseeing, if i go at all.

st. patricks day was fun. the day after could have been worse. i'll leave it at that :)

i went home for easter. that was a nice little break. i picked my sister up on the way home and caught up with her. i saw mom, dad, and my grandmother, and headed back on sunday afternoon. it was short, but it was nice.

also: i looked at the graduate program for accounting one more time and decided that it just wasn't the way to go. it looks great on paper, but doing those classes for a year...i hate many of the classes i have now *coughaccountinginformationsystemscough* and a lot of the graduate classes are just the advanced versions of these very classes that i hate oh so much. so i'm not sure what i'm going to do. i'll probably work for a year or two, just to become financially independent in the eyes of the government, and then maybe go to law school. that would be school i might actually enjoy at this point.

today was hot and muggy outside. i can't wait for summer :) i'll be delighted for the 95 degree weather and the 90% humidity, just to get out of this hot/cold/hot/cold winter.

after going to the concert last night, i feel so freakin tame. i wanna go do something exciting.

said concert was saliva and drowning pool. saw some crazy stuff there. it started 2.5 hours late, but it was a great show, so i'll forgive them :)

i would post more often, but nothing exciting is going on. which is why i wanna go do something more than just the usual grind. keep me from doing something drastic, kids ;)

so in case you haven't heard:

http://m.cnn.com/cnn/lt_ne/lt_ne/detail/64819/full

what this says: people who made under 75000 a year (or 150000 for a joint return) get an extra 600 (1200 joint return) back in the mail this tax season. those who didn't pay income tax, but made over 3000 this past year get 300 back. there's also more money back for having kids.

so technically, i should get an extra 300 back. however, now that i think about it, i might not since i'm still a dependent. i'd have to look into it.

also, i'm considering law school. it sounds like a good time :)

so i haven't updated since december 4th. i'll try to fill in the gaps, for those who read. and i have found out that a few people actually do read this thing ;)

christmas break was pretty good. i was home for exactly three weeks. i saw most of the people i wanted to see. i didn't see a few people i wanted to see, but that's what happens when you live four hours from home and only come home twice a year. i got mostly money for christmas, which i desperately needed. i also got a set of knives, an umbrella, a rubber mallet, and tires, among other things. the best part was actually being home and seeing my family for more than a day at a time. novel concept, huh?

i came back to huntsville a week before school started and did absolutely nothing. i hung out with matt and a few other people, and i played world of warcraft. it was a great week.

i started school and my internship with the cpa office on january 7th. i've discovered that working and school isn't that easy. it wasn't as bad at best buy; i am most active in the morning, and so i'd do my homework then and work at night. now that i work in the morning, i come home at night and want to just sit or go to bed. therefore, not much homework has been done. however, i just got motivation to do that again, so that will be remedied soon.

i am playing soccer on a huntsville adult league team. i officially got a spot, and i practice with them on sundays. i'll be playing in a 7v7 tourney in february, and then after that real soccer begins. i'm excited to play without having all my time consumed by soccer :)

i've also started back at the writing center this week. i only work four hours a week, which is good, considering i work 20 hours a week at the internship and i go to school for 12 hours (not including homework :( ) it's manageable, but i'm not the biggest fan.

i might be going to romania this summer. there's a school trip which gives college credit for going to romania for two weeks and taking classes/sightseeing there. finally, a country i'd go to that my sister hasn't beat me to. you know that's my main motivation ;) unfortunately, it costs a lot of money, and the scholarships for it had a priority deadline of december 1st, way before i even heard of this thing. so i'm kinda angry that they changed things without really letting anyone know and now i might not get the money i would need to go. while this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, i'm not going if i can't get most, if not all, of this paid for.

my life is more structured than it has ever been. the only day i don't have something going on every week is saturday, and i've already got a lot of them filled up for the next while. it's kind of sad and i'm not sure that i like it. oh well, it's only for a semester :)

i hope everyone else is doing well! and sandra, get a job, slacker ;)

i suppose i ought to post again, for my many readers ;)

school is almost over. i have three more exams (one on wednesday and two on thursday), and then i'm done. i'll be going to a party on friday and tying up loose ends on saturday. sunday i will be coming home and will be home until christmas.

i played soccer for the first time in about a month on sunday. i ran around for about an hour and a half, and it was a blast. however, i'm definitely feeling it now. i'm so sore from the waist down. it was totally worth it :)

i got an internship with a cpa for next semester. i'll be working 20 hours a week, which is going to be great. i'll still be taking 12 hours in addition to that, so i will have filled my time up with things to do again :) i will have my weekends free though, so that's going to be really nice.

that's about it. i just can't wait to get home!

sooo i haven't touched this in a month. let me give you an update.

i quit soccer at uah. the money wasn't worth the time, hassle, and anger. that's all i'll say about it here.

since i quit, i have a lot more time on my hands. i've hung out more with matt and anne. i've also picked up a job at the front desk and have been taking hours there, which is cool. i also got invited to play on a team in the huntsville adult soccer league, so i won't be completely out of soccer, which is really nice.

beyond that, it's just been more speeches and tests for school. nothing terribly exciting.

it's finally gotten cold. while i'm not real excited about that, it is about time the cold came around. also, maybe it will kill the 20+ wasps i saw around my house the other day :(

my mom is in northern ireland with my sister, having a blast. wish i was there.

so i've gotten pretty bad at posting on this lately. forgive me, the few of you that read ;)

things are going pretty well. i'm missing school on thursday for the third time in a row (soccer, then fall break, and now soccer again). we leave for delta state (deep mississippi, for those who don't know) at 1 30 today and get back late tomorrow night. after this weekend, we play christian brothers at home, and then that's probably it for us. we're more than likely not going to make it to the playoffs, so cbu will be our last game of the season. i'm ready for season to be over, so i'm not too crushed by it. i mean, if we had gone to conference, that would have been great, but we didn't, so whatever.

i'm falling a touch behind in school. hopefully i'll be able to catch up this weekend since i'll have saturday and sunday at home. maybe i'll clean the house a bit, too.

i went shopping with mom last weekend when she was here and dad was in knoxville at school. we bought some nice clothes cause i've grown out of all my old ones, even though i haven't really grown at all...most of the shirts have shrunk, i guess. that's what cotton does. but anyway, we got some nice collared shirts and a few other shirts. no pants though, which is what i really needed. my nice black pants just don't fit right, and i can't find any that fit right, either. i suppose i will continue the search on another weekend.

nothing else too exciting is going on. matt and i will be at a year and a half on november 11, which is pretty crazy, in a cool way. and speaking of november, sandra's birthday is coming up soon. i guess i don't need to worry about that until christmas anyway, since sandra's on the other side of the pond. regardless, what do you want for your birthday sandra? and christmas, while we're thinking about presents.

off to get things together before the soccer trip!

had my first tests in school this week. i get those grades back today, as well as a speech grade. hopefully i did well. i'm just glad they're over with...i was stressing all weekend about those.

halo 3 came out on tuesday, for the uninformed. unfortunately, my 360 is dead. the red ring of death appeared a few weeks ago, and microsoft has my xbox right now. so i can't do much about the whole halo launch thing. not that i should have, since i had my two tests and my speech on the same day as the launch. blessing in disguise, i guess.

sandra is on the other side of the pond in northern ireland. i won't see her until december. sandra, i'm up to using skype whenever now since i don't have school work due in the immediate future.

the soccer team is 5-3, and we start conference play this weekend. next weekend we go to arkansas. i hate arkansas. i'm going to bring a pillow and hopefully sleep through as much of the experience as possible. on the bright side, i won't have to go there next year, so that'll be nice.

i'm going to go eat some corn pops :)

this is just a really quick entry, because i have quite a few things to do today.

my legs are all better now! pulled muscle wise, anyway. i will explain the carpet burns later.

i was away this weekend for soccer. we are now 1-0. we had two games, but the first game got cancelled halfway through due to a storm that just would not leave. we waited like, an hour an a half. the second one at least got finished, despite a storm looming over the mountains (we were in south carolina). so that went okay. my knee is scraped up pretty badly. i got two serious carpet burns in last weekend's scrimmage, and i reopened them this friday and bled like a stuck pig. not fun, and the cleaning with alcohol was very painful. it was the most pain i've had in a long time. however, i could play with those on sunday, so it was okay.

we ended up going outlet mall shopping a couple of times. i got tennis shoes at the nike outlet (my favorite store!) and some smelly things at bath and body works. that was kinda cool.

i also saw my parents this weekend. that was very nice. mommy brought me brownies :) i'm going to eat them this week. i'm also going to see my parents the next two weekends because of home games, and i believe sandra is coming down this coming weekend. i'm so excited!

okay, i have to go now.

14 August 2007 @ 08:43 pm
so i've gone from pulling ordinary larger muscle groups (ie: hamstrings) to a smaller, more obscure one. i pulled my gracilis on my right leg, right where it connects with the pelvic bone.

what this means:
-since this muscle helps with rotation and extension of the leg, everything hurts. driving, walking, kicking, running. soccer is out of the question.
-i will be out at least 3 days (including today). i might be good by friday. might.

end result: i will have missed at least half of preseason. i'm so pissed about that. but i mean, what can i do? if i play on it, it gets worse. so i have to wait it out.

on the bright side, we don't have practice tomorrow. it's not really a good thing, since we're not having practice because of the number of injured players (and the ones mentioned were only the ones the trainers knew about). that's not good, but the time off will help everyone, cause we're in dire straights.

i had my writing center intro today. i found out i can't just say, this is wrong, fix it. i actually have to get it to where they're still actually doing the writing. darn, i'll have to work at my job ;) but in all seriousness, it's going to be a change from my normal editing style, but i can't imagine that it will be too hard, considering i'll only be doing this five hours a week. it'll be just enough so i'll still have money to get around, but not so much work that i can't do school and soccer and such. very nice :)

mmm, i think i'm going to go play some guitar hero.

so i am officially living off campus now. this should be interesting. i don't think it will pose any problems, though. i did manage to get most of my crap in my room (which is no small feat, for those who don't know how much stuff i have), but it took a few days. i can't get the wireless network to work on my laptop, but it works with the consoles, and that's more important. so until i can get the wireless to play nice, i'm hooked up to laura's room with an eithernet cord. i'll need to be wired when i get matt's pc anyway, so it's all good.

ummm still sore on the hamstrings. preseason starts tomorrow. i'm already behind, and it hasn't even started yet. this is going to be great, i can tell. on the bright side, i won't have school for two weeks. that'll be kinda nice.

i still have to go book shopping, though :(

so i've managed to hurt my hamstrings before preseason starts. isn't that cool. *sigh* hopefully they'll get better in the next few days. if they don't, i don't know what i'm going to do.

i'm completely done with class. i know i got an A in management, and i think i got an A in english. that will make three As for the summer semester, giving me a 3.877. that'd be pretty sweet.

i'm hoping to finish moving into laura's house today. my small room can actually fit a lot of stuff in it, especially since i got a loft bed in there. matt and i put the tv stand together last night. we were expecting it to take about an hour, or hour and a half. it took three hours. we were so mad at it by the end...but it looks really nice, and my tv fits on it juuuust right. very nice.

matt had two kittens at work today. i played with them. it made me want a kitten, but not only do i not have the time or money, but laura has a dog that would probably eat my kitten. *tear* maybe i will get a pet in a few years.

mmm, more packing. yay.

so i no longer work at best buy. yesterday was my last day. while i'm going to miss a lot of people there, i am not sorry i'm leaving. in fact, i got a job offer for later this fall on the way out...kinda funny.

so i'm jobless for just a bit. i'll be working in the writing center when school starts, but except for one day of training on the 14th, i will just be doing preseason for the next few weeks.

what's this? you want to know my preseason schedule? okay, i will tell you.

weekdays (6-10 and 13-17) 7-9 and 5-7
august 11: 7-9
august 12, 18, and 19: scrimmage
august 20: rest day (only rest day during preseason)
august 21: 12-2, which continues throughout regular season

so that's what i'll be doing the next few weeks. lots of running, sleeping, and sitting. maybe some guitar hero thrown in the mix, too. sounds like fun, no? ;)

sooo small update.

i am home right now. i'm leaving in about 30 minutes though. i came home to pack up part of my room and take it to huntsville. we'll be moving all that in this afternoon.

got my english paper and presentation done. i think it turned out well. at least the pressure is off. now i just have to do my management project and do both exams. sounds like a lot, but the three combined don't have half the pressure of the english project.

preseason starts in two weeks. my training for the writing center starts in three. my last day at best buy is tuesday. *cheers* i never thought retail would be so bad, but it is. it really is that bad. between bitchy customers and never knowing what one's schedule is going to be (especially during christmas), it's pretty bad. but i won't be working there any more yay!

off to go finish packing.

news:

finance is over. i got an A. yay!

management has started. i know i was saying i wanted to be out of finance, but i would take another 5 weeks of finance if i didn't have to take this management course. it's the worst class i've ever had. the woman isn't very bright and her lectures go from yes, i already know them but i could bear to hear, to oh God please make it stop. no joke. i'm considering buying a ds lite for this class and this class alone.

today is my last day at the library. i quit here before i found out about best buy. well, actually, that's not quite right. best buy told me about a month ago that they could work with my soccer schedule, and then last week told me that they couldn't. soooo my last day at best buy is july 31. i will be jobless for just a bit. however, i am applying at the writing center, where i would work about 4 or so hours a week (so it would actually work with soccer). so yeah, i'll be home for christmas, kids.

time to go get some food.

i'm so glad this week is over. i had a finance test and my individual research report due. and it's all over, yay. i have two more days of finance next week, and my final is on thursday. i'm pretty stoked about getting out of finance...i've done so many math problems, and i'm sick of it.

i also beat god of war this morning. i had to do some of the last fights twice due to circumstances not under my control. however, i did get it done, and it was very good. i suppose i'll have to return the playstation to chase so he can play god of war 2 before i get on that.

andy's coming over next weekend. we will rock out on guitar hero 2 :)

matt and i had our first fight this weekend. that was interesting. we're better now, though.

i saw andy last saturday. that was fun. it took three tries to find his house, but i managed. we playe guitar hero 2 and had deep and meaningful conversation. and now since i've gone down to see him i can badger him into coming up to huntsville sometime. yay!

besides that it's the same old stuff: class, job(s), soccer (running and lifting), and social life (what's left of it). i am enjoying the summer, though. kinda high stress, but still fun :)
